Garden in View
A familiar Atherton home opens to light and landscape, making room for an expanding family to gather
This Atherton, California home remodel transforms two smaller rooms into a generous gathering space designed for time with adult children and grandchildren. By opening the rooms to previously unused attic volume, the renovation creates a vaulted, wood-beamed interior filled with light and air. Clerestory windows, tall French doors, and expansive folding doors bring daylight deep into the house and open the living spaces to the rear garden, pool, and outdoor dining areas. A reworked entry, including a new powder room, creates a clear view through the house to the landscape beyond, while the remodel carries forward the home’s original architectural character.
